My Challenge for 2012

I'm taking the books from last year's list that I did not read and adding them to this year's list:

Middlesex, by Jeffrey Eugenides
Descarte's Bones, by Russell Shorto
Strength in What Remains, by Tracy Kidder
Cheever: A Life, by Blake Bailey
Freedom, by Johathan Franzen
Love Songs from a Shallow Grave, by Colin Cotterill
Provenance: How a Con Man and a Forger Rewrote the History of Modern Art, by Laney Salisbury and Aley Sujo

And adding:

State of Wonder by Ann Patchett
Started Early, Took My Dog by Kate Atkinson
The Most Dangerous Thing by Laura Lippman

We'll see whether I stick to the list...

Interesting list. Some of the authors are on my watchlist.

I've been interested in Freedom, too, and even more so in State of Wonder. Loved Bel Canto by Pratchett, which is why I'll probably turn to her book first. Corrections by Franzen made me feel our society is even more slimy than I usually feel it is.

You have prepared a wonderful list, and I think it's a good idea to move to 2012 what you didn't complete in 2011.
